This Comedian Finds New Role As His Parent’s Caretaker

Jesus Trejo, a rising star in the comedy world who is pursuing his dreams, is also embracing his other role – caring for his aging parents.

Jesus’ world was flipped upside down when his mother, Adelaida, underwent emergency surgery to remove a brain tumor. Later, the family received more devastating news: Jesus’ father, Antonio, was diagnosed with stage 2 colon cancer.

Transforming adversity into comedy, he uses his life experience as material for his routine. When his set caught the eye of producers at The Late Late Show with James Corden, Jesus may have scored the big break he had been banking on.

Now Jesus is on top of the comedy world, with his stand up special Stay Home Son streaming on Showtime (and his recent appearance on Checkitow), but he has taken time to film a new documentary with AARP Studios called Care to Laugh, showing his audience how much he loves and cares for his elderly folks.
