Mexican Ecologist from Oaxaca wins Green Nobel Prize

Jesús León Santos, a 49 year old Mexican ecologist and environmental activist is one of the recipients of the Goldman Environmental Prize. The award, which is considered by many the “Green Nobel Prize” of ecology was awarded to Jesús for his work in creating “Centro de Desarollo Integral Campesino” where he heads a program called Agricultura Sostenible, which helps restore the ecological health in the Mixteca community. Just like Gabriela Leon Gutierrez Coronavirus fighting hero Latina scientist, he’s an accomplished genius making our community proud! His efforts have led to the planting of over 4 million trees. The prize will surely help him continue to do good things for the community and his environment.
