Snoop Dogg doesn’t just smoke greens – he eats them too! The hip-hop icon’s love for plant-based food company Beyond Meat is real. In fact, it’s so real that he joined forces with the company to deliver 1 million vegan burgers to Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in Southern Los Angeles. Just like Chef José Andrés, he is another celebrity making a hugely positive impact on society during this crisis.
The rapper posted on Instagram: “Beyond Meat has made a pledge to donate over one million Beyond Burgers to those in need during these challenging times.”
Now, Snoop Dogg is not the only one helping Beyond Meat spread love during this crazy time. Comedian Kevin Hart also sent Beyond Burgers to Northridge Medical Center and Maggie Baird (Billie Eilish’s mom) has created Support and Feed, an initiative with plant-based restaurants in New York and Los Angeles to feed vulnerable people and workers on the front lines.
The company, founded in 2009 by Ethan Brown, has been growing in popularity over the last couple years. Beyond Meat provides consumers with safe alternatives to meat that contain a surprising flavor similarity.
