Jharrel won for his role as Korey Wise in the Netflix series “When They See Us,” which is centered around the false accused Central Park Five. This made him the first Afro-Latino to win an Emmy.

“When They See Us” also won for Outstanding Casting for a Limited Series and was nominated a total of 16 times.
