Police Crash Party and Find Mayor’s Wife Inside

It’s been proven that confinement for this long can either strengthen relationships or strain them – just ask this couple that got stuck on the Maldives. In the case of Alton, Illinois Mayor Brant Walker and his wife, it’s the latter…

48 hours after the mayor announced his “Stay At Home” initiative (which obviously prohibited any type of social gatherings) the police cracked down on a bar still open at one in the morning – and surprise, surprise, guess who was at the bar? Mayor Brant Walker’s wife.

“I instructed the Police Chief to treat her as he would any citizen violating the ‘Stay At Home’ order and to ensure that she received no special treatment,” Walker’s statement read. “My wife is an adult capable of making her own decisions, and in this instance she exhibited a stunning lack of judgement,” Walker said. “She now faces the same consequences for her ill-advised decision as the other individuals who chose to violate the ‘Stay At Home’ order during this incident.” Looks like somebody will be sleeping on the couch this week…

Now, Walker’s wife faces a Class A misdemeanor charge punishable by up to 364 days in jail and/or a fine of $2,500 — which is pretty harsh! What do you guys think? Should she get off with a fine, or does she deserve jail time just based on the irony? Let us know in the comments below.
