Selena Quintanilla’s legacy still remains, after the quarter-century anniversary of her death and her life and career will soon be memorialized in a television series. Netflix just announced the release date will be December 4th, 2020.
From executive producers Jaime Dávila, Rico Martinez, Hiromi Kamata, Suzette Quintanilla, Simran A. Singh and Moises Zamora, Selena: The Series was created by Zamora, with Don Todd (“This is Us”) consulting, and features Christian Serratos, Gabriel Chavarria, Ricardo Chavira, Noemí Gonzalez, and Seidy López.
The Quintanillas work hard to keep Selena’s legacy alive, but they are constantly reminded of the tragic family loss that occurred in 1995.
Suzette Quintanilla, Selena’s sister, shared in an interview with People Magazine how her family has worked through the years to deal with the pain.
“We can be fine, and then someone wants to share where they were when they heard that Selena died, and that’s very difficult,” Quintanilla said. “I have to dig deep in my soul to figure out why. Then I realize it’s their way of sharing, that they feel that connection, they’re sharing that they felt lost.”
Twenty-five years later, La Reina Del Tex-Mex remains in her family’s heart and soul, and in her fans hearts through her music.
