LATV Joins ANA and AIMM in Pledge for Action on Diversity and Inclusion

LATV’s Co-Executive Director Andres Palencia joined other industry leaders and executives in signing an “Industry Pledge” letter published in Adweek, USA Today and The New York Times, calling for sweeping changes to accelerate progress and effect real, dynamic change. 

“As an independent Latino-owned company amplifying inclusive content made by our diverse team of creators, LATV works with advertisers and marketers who value equity, diversity and inclusion, but it is imperative that the industry as a whole rises to the occasion. Recent events only emphasize the urgency and necessity for accountability and action, which is why we enthusiastically support the Industry Pledge and AIMM’s #SeeAll campaign,” said Andres Palencia. 

As a national bilingual TV network with digital distribution, OTT streaming, and vast social media amplification LATV produces inclusive Latino content that includes titles emphasizing Latina empowerment, LGBTQ+ visibility and diversity in entertainment. Because they have benefitted from an inclusive business model to drive growth, LATV’s leadership feels it’s their duty to help industry-wide initiatives to accelerate the path to equity, diversity and inclusion. 

The Industry Pledge includes tangible steps that will be taken to ensure success, including organizational initiatives to address systemic inequities, industry-wide commitments to accurate multicultural and inclusive data measurement, and increased spending in multicultural marketing among other concrete actions.
