Grammy-winning bolero-punk, bossa-nova/soul quartet La Santa Cecilia delivered their highly anticipated virtual outdoor event “Noche de Bohemia con la Santa Cecilia” last weekend and it did not disappoint.
Thousands of people from countries around the globe—including the United States, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Finland, Austria, Netherlands, and many more—tuned in to connect virtually with La Santa Cecilia to share in this unique and incredibly personal affair. Through the power of technology, viewers were able to feel as though they were in the same room as the band, having the opportunity to speak directly with accordionist/requinto player Jose “Pepe” Carlos, bassist Alex Bendaña, percussionist Miguel “Oso” Ramirez and vocalist La Marisoul in a live webchat, and request their favorite songs all night long. As part of the immersive, multi-sensory experience, fans located in Los Angeles were also able to enjoy the same Oaxacan dishes and mezcal as the band, thanks to Madre Restaurants.
The magical night ended with an exclusive first look at La Santa Cecilia’s new music video “A Thousand Times,”which was filmed at home and directed by Humberto Howard. “A Thousand Times” was written by the group with Argentine composer, producer and singer Claudia Brant, and was included on their most recent album, La Santa Cecilia.
