Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Feminist Icon Dead at 87

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the second female justice ever selected to serve on the Supreme Court, has passed away at age 87 from complications of metastatic pancreas cancer. Just when we thought 2020 couldn’t get any worse… So make sure you register to vote because the winner of the next election will certainly decide on her replacement.

At a height of only 5 feet and a weight of about 100 pounds in her later years, Justice Ginsburg was a fighter through and through. She met every challenge that came her way, and would stop at nothing to serve our nation.

Many people called on her to retire after her 80th birthday and make way for a new liberal judge to be appointed while Obama was in office. Instead, she decided to keep her post, and has been recorded saying she would do so “as long as [she] can do her job full steam.”

In recent years, she became somewhat of a pop culture icon, with many people giving her the nickname “Notorious RBG.” She quickly became an internet sensation due to her serene yet severe appearance, her keen fashion sense, and her overall badassery. Many kids even dressed up like her for halloween.

Sadly, she lost her long fought battle to cancer after many years of strength and vigor. She will always be remembered for her strong liberal stance on important issues, especially as pertaining to women’s rights. Rest easy, Queen.
