JLO and A-Rod Donate 20,000 Meals in South Florida

Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have been in the trades quite often lately, from their rumored impending purchase of the Mets to their controversial VIP session at a public gym, despite the “Stay At Home” order issued in Florida.

Luckily, they are redeeming themselves by becoming the latest addition to the group of celebrities who are helping amidst the pandemic by donating 20,000 meals to hotel employees who have lost their jobs.

The frozen meals are from Tiller & Hatch Supply Co, which they co-own. Helping the distribution of these meals this past Saturday was local teen hero Henry Hurowitz, who started FoodEase, a non-profit that helps reduce food waste in South Florida by distributing extras to homeless shelters. The irony of this situation is that despite us being in a crisis, there is still a lot of food getting wasted.

This effort is part of a larger meal distribution plan organized by Food Rescue US, which will distribute an additional 12,000 meals throughout South Florida next week. Thanks JLO and A-Rod!
