If you thought Paris was the most romantic city in the world, you were right! The French capital has proved it once more with this new initiative that combines social distancing and a romantic date; a floating movie theater on the Seine, madams, and monsieurs. (Not to dismiss drive-ins, but this is way cooler…)
The “Cinéma sur l’Eau” — or cinema on the water — will be held July 18 to celebrate the start of Paris Plages, an annual city-run program that creates temporary beaches during the summer.
You could be one of the lucky ones to enjoy the free screening from the comfort of 38 electric boats that can hold two to six people each, so you and your family can be together while social distancing from the rest. Brilliant idea for the Covid era, if you ask me.
Two movies are set to play on the big screen, including A Corona Story, a short film about the pandemic, and Le Grand Bain, a French comedy from 2018 about a group of men who start a synchronized swimming team.
