Alcohol sales have risen significantly since stay at home orders have been issued. Whether it be a way to unwind, a new hobby, or for video call happy hours people are boozing like there’s no tomorrow. Did we mention you can also get the booze delivered?
Some ingredients are hard to come by at the moment, which is why every cocktail in this list only requires a few ingredients and no fancy hardware. Just combine, stir (or shake), and enjoy. As always, pleased drink responsibly.
Aperol Spritz
-3 parts Prosecco
-2 parts Aperol
-1 part Club Soda
-Orange Slice (optional)
The popular drink from Northern Italy is great to cool down with as the summer months get closer. Just add the ingredients in a glass, then ice so it doesn’t fizz up (optional), a quick stir, and you’re all set!
Caipirinha
-2 teaspoons Sugar
-1/2 to 3/4 of a Lime
-2 oz. of Cachaça
The national cocktail of Brazil is not only delicious but easy to make as well! Lightly muddle the lime and sugar in the glass. Add the ice and Cachaça. Then quick stir and garnish should do it.
Crowning Achievement
-1.5 oz. of Crown Royal Apple.
-4 oz. of Pomegranate Juice
-1 oz. of Ginger Ale
This fruity cocktail is neither too bitter or too sweet. Just pour over ice and garnish with an apple round.
Daiquiri
-2 oz. of Light Rum
-1/4 to 1 oz. of Simple Syrup.
-1 oz. of Lime Juice.
Add ingredients and ice to a shaker. Shake well and strain into a chilled glass. Adjust simple syrup and lime juice to taste. If you want to spruce it up a bit, add all ingredients, half a banana, 1.5 oz of coconut cream, and ice to a blender for a tropical treat.
Dark & Stormy
-2 oz. Dark or Spiced Rum
-3 oz. Gingerbeer
-1/2 oz. of Lime Juice (optional)
Add 2 oz. of pineapple juice to make it a Bermuda Triangle!
Mojito
-Club Soda
-2 Sprigs of Mint
-2 oz. of White Rum
-3/4 oz. of Simple Syrup
-3/4 oz. of Lime Juice
Crisp and refreshing, the Cuban mojito is the go-to cocktail on a hot day. In a shaker, muddle the mint and simple syrup. Add the other ingredients, ice, and shake. Strain into glass and add club soda.
Margarita
2 Servings
-4 oz. Tequila (try using Reposado)
-2 oz. of Cointreau, Agave, or Simple Syrup
-1.5 oz. of Lime Juice
This one is a no brainer. There are a million ways to customize a margarita and it’s hard to go wrong with any of them. We’ll stick with the classic for now. Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a salt-rimmed glass.
Negroni
-1 oz. Campari
-1 oz. Gin
-1 oz. Sweet Vermouth
The much loved Negroni is a breeze to make. Just stir the ingredients with ice and garnish with an orange peel.
White Russian
-2 oz. Vodka
-1 oz. of Heavy Cream
-1 oz. Kahlúa
The Dude’s drink of choice isn’t overly complicated. Add the booze, then the cream, and stir with ice.
