Khury has been a trailblazer in the sport his entire life. In addition to being to youngest to hit the 900 and 1080, he’s also the youngest person to hit a 720 and compete at the X Games. When asked about how he landed the trick, Khury attributed it to his youth, as his light build makes it easier to rotate. This tracks as the first person to hit ever a 1080, Tom Schaar, did so on the mega ramp when he was 12 years old.
So what’s next for the young phenom? Gui has his sights set on the Olympic Games where he’ll compete in the sport’s inaugural year. Although the event in Tokyo won’t feature a vert ramp competition, we’re confident that Khury will find a way to leave his mark.
