Here’s some good news!
Mexico, much like the rest of the world, is still grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic. Don’t worry, that’s not the good news. As the country closes in on 800,000 cases, there’s at least one they can deduct from that total. That case belongs to a beautiful woman known as Doña María, who just recovered from the virus at 103 years old. Yes, you read that right – 103.
The virus poses a more severe risk to those who are of older age with underlying health conditions. Despite María also battling a chronic pulmonary disease, she defied the odds and was discharged from the hospital after 11 days of treatment. In a touching moment, the staff of Hospital General Regional No. 110 in Guadalajara, Jalisco lined up to congratulate the guerrera on her recovery.

María left the hospital in high spirits, thanking her medical caretakers for their hard work. It’s hard not to be blown away by the resiliency of this woman. We wish her and everyone else the best who has had to deal with the virus.
